Dear Church Family,
The Bible says in Ephesians 3:17 “May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand how wide, and how long, and how high and how deep his love really is. May you experience this love.” In other words, may you not just know it, may you feel it at gut level.
Paul wants us to experience daily what it means to really feel loved by God, unconditionally loved by God, so that we can know, no matter what happens in our life God is never going to stop loving us.
God’s love is wide enough to include everybody. No matter who we are or what we have done, God loves us. The problem with human love is that it can die and runs out but God’s love is long enough to last forever.
God’s love is high enough to be everywhere. We will never go anywhere that God doesn’t go with us. We will never be separated from His love if we accept it. And it’s deep enough to meet our needs. When we’re in deep despair, God’s love is deeper..
These four dimensions — high, wide, long, deep — are the four dimensions of the cross. That’s what God’s love is all about; the ultimate expression is the cross.
If I had an Easter wish this year it would be that we would understand how much God really loves us. That is why over the next few weeks leading up to Easter we are going to being a new series called True Love – The Story of Easter.
I pray that we will all be able to feel and understand how long, how wide, how deep and how high His love really is and to experience this love for ourselves.
Looking forward to seeing you Sunday.
