Dear Church Family,
Often when we get together our prayer times can seem predictable. We pray for the sick, for financial needs, for guidance in dealing with someone or something. These prayers are totally acceptable, but consider the prayer said in Acts 4:23-31. The first followers of Jesus could have prayed for all kinds of needs. But they don’t pray for comfort or ease, and they don’t complain about their situation. Instead, they prayed for boldness in their proclaiming that Jesus is Lord and Saviour. They took comfort in God’s sovereignty over all things, knowing that the opposition they face isn’t outside of God’s control.
What about us when we face opposition or when life just seems to really hurt, where do we turn? What do we do?
I pray that we will open to learning from the way the first followers of Jesus responded to the situation.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Andrew
