Wired for Worship

April 19, 2013 by admin

This Sunday we are continuing our series called “Wired for Worship”.

Worship should matter to us simply because it matters to God. And worship matters to God because He know He’s worthy. I know a statement like that can sound like God has an ego, but it is true. Worship doesn’t begin with us. Worship begins and ends with God. And God is worthy of all praise from all people for all time. He is the center of everything that exists.

I find it amazing that our incredibly powerful and big God, who has never known any shortage of worship, wants to be worshiped by us. Right now. It’s not that He needs any more worship to be worthy. God knows who He is. He knows what He’s worth and he knows that He has made us for His glory.

Louie Giglio in his book ‘The Air I breath’ writes, “Worship is what God is all about….. and God is what worship all about.”

What should our response be to God for all that he has done, is doing and will do in the future?

I pray that we will open to all that the Holy Spirit will lead us to as we dive into this topic.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Ps Andrew

PS Rainbow Kids, Kids Church & Metamorphsis start this Sunday during church.

What is Worship?
Loulie Giglio in his book, The air I breathe (worship as a way of life) writes, ‘Worship, in essence, is declaring what we value most.’ I love that definition. But it also asks the question from us of what do we value most?

Paul when he wrote to the church at Rome said this, “Therefore, I urge you brothers in view of God’s mercy”. Romans 12:1 In view of who He is and what He has done.

When I look at my own life and look at the things that I have done. And then I look at the things that the Bible says about God’s response to what I have done. That is God’s mercy. And what should our response be? Paul goes on, “to offer your bodies as living sacrificies, holy and pleasing to God – this is our spiritual act of worship.”

I believe that Worshipping God is this: It is responding to who God is and to what He has done.

In view of who He is and what He has done, we bring Him an offering. We are that offering. It’s deeper than our songs; it’s louder than our music. It comes from within, and it’s us surrendering to Him. It is all because of Jesus that we have life. Let’s Worship.
