All of my life I have been taught that I should pray. I grew up in a church where we recited the Lord’s Prayer every week; when I was young I was told to say my prayers each night before bedtime.
Today, I have on my bookshelf a number of books on the subject of prayer. I’ve listened to countless sermons about it but the only way I learned how to pray was by praying.
Think about that for a moment, you can come to church on Sunday and hear about prayer but will that that make you a better prayer? No! You learn to pray by praying.
On Sunday, we’re going begin a new series on the topic of Prayer – everyone knows it’s important but not everyone knows how to do it.
To prepare for this series ask yourself this question; On a scale of 1-10 (ten being the highest), how would you rate your prayer life?
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Andrew
