Dear Church Family,
Does God seem to pick certain types of people to accomplish his purposes? Consider some of the characters in the Bible who God used to do mighty things:
- David was a simple shepherd boy, yet God used him to slay a giant.
- Jonah was a grumpy prophet, but God used him to lead a whole city to repentance.
- Moses was prone to temper tantrums, and he didn’t speak very well; still God used him to defeat the most powerful man in the world and set his people free from slavery.
God loves to use ordinary people for extraordinary tasks. We will see that as well on Sunday in Acts 4:1-22. Peter and John were just a couple of normal people who surrendered to God and were filled with the power of his Spirit. God was with them, and the people took notice! Do you think you could do the same?
I pray we will be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t forget the meeting after the service to discuss our involvement as a church, with a movement amongst other Baptist churches.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Andrew
