Faith that seems ridiculous

Faith that seems ridiculous

elisha1On Sunday we have David & Eliza Adamthwaite visiting speaking to us about their journey to the mission fields in China.

In the evening at 6pm, Geoff Brown & Jim Finger is conducting a seminar on End times, as a continuation of the sermon series that ended last week.

This week we are starting a new series called Elisha. In this series, I pray we will learn how we can take some lessons from his life and apply it into our own for some practical, supernatural experiences through the power of God.

Elisha is one of the most fascinating people found in God’s word. He was a prophet whose faith and miracles seem almost ridiculous.

On Sunday we are going to look at the calling of Elisha from 1 Kings 19:19-21. We will see that Elisha was involved in hard, boring, monotonous work, he spent his time staring at oxen rears. Every day. Same thing. Day after day. Think about our lives, same job, same school, same family. Every day. Same thing. Day after day. It’s enough to lose your passion staring at oxen rears.  Can you imagine what could happen if we gave control of our life to God? It’s scary, but the benefits are world-altering.

The story of Elisha challenges us to answer God’s calling and take the risks that are necessary to do His will.  It’s time we start taking risks and making decisions the world doesn’t understand.
