Dear Church Family,
What are you thankful for?
The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Literally we are to show gratitude, appreciation, give recognition and praise. It means we need to give credit to where credit is due. We are to give thanks in all circumstances.
Now this verse doesn’t say give thanks for all circumstances there is a big difference. We don’t have to be thankful for the bad in our lives but we are to thank God in it. We can thank God because we know that He is in control. He is the one who can bring good out of evil. Turn a death into a resurrection. We can know that no matter what happens God isn’t going to stop loving us. Truly that is something wonderful to be thankful for!
This Sunday we have the joy of celebrating in the baptism of Cody Norris.
I pray you can join us as we say Thank you to God for the year and all that he has been doing in us as a church family.
PS – Don’t forget that tomorrow is Election Day in Victoria.
I am sure we will all be glad to see the end of this campaign. But one of the great things of living in Australia is that we have a right to vote and that the process of electing or changing governments is completed in peace.
I know that whatever the outcome tomorrow, it will be a peaceful transition of power or continuation of power. Therefore, let’s pray for wisdom for our political leaders and God’s guidance as we vote and let us also give thanks to our great God for our nation.
